Mary Marguerite Shepard, 92 of Kirksville passed away Thursday (May 10, 2012) at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.
    
The daughter of Maurice and Victoria Rosa (Rogerson) Christopher, she was born July 23, 1919 in Hurdland, MO. On April 29, 1941 in Edina, MO she was united in marriage to Myron L. Shepard and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, J. Patrick Shepard and one sister, Kathleeen Strickler.
    
Marguerite is survived by two sons, Michael Shepard and wife Karen of Kirksville and Dr. M. Eric Shepard and wife Linda of Perrinton, MI; a daughter-in-law, Gail Shepard of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren, Stephen Shepard, Stacey Shepard, Matthew Shepard, Erica Spiess, Michael Shepard and Christopher Shepard; and six great grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Shepard, Jackson, Tyler and Isabelle Spiess, and Allison Shepard.
    
Marguerite was raised in the Hurdland area and attended the Hurdland schools, graduating from the Hurdland High School. She was a housewife and a mother until later in life when she worked in retail and was a real estate agent until retirement. While in Memphis, MO she helped her husband in restoring old homes and building new ones. In 2003 Marguerite and Myron made their home in Kirksville.
    
She was a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Navy Mothers and Women of the Moose. She was active in school functions and church activities. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, quilting and was a great cook.
    
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday (May 14, 2012) at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Park View Memorial Gardens.
    
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday (May 13, 2012) at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home

Memorials in memory of Marguerite can be made to Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
