MPACT Training Coming to PACT Activity Center

Free Special Education Trainings To Be Offered Monthly

The Adair County SB40 Developmental Disability Board will host free MPACT trainings monthly at the PACT Activity Center, 1107 Country Club Drive, Kirksville, beginning Saturday, September 8. “Understanding the IEP Process” is the topic of the first training on the 8th from 1 pm to 4 pm. Trainings in future months will cover topics like positive behavior supports, resolving disagreements, the journey to adulthood and the transition process from school to work. MPACT is Missouri’s statewide Parent Training and Information Center serving all disabilities. The mission of MPACT is to ensure that all children with special needs receive an education that allows them to achieve their personal goals. The trainings will assist parents to effectively advocate for their children’s educational rights and services. The trainings are open to the public but advance registration is requested; please call Mindy Davis toll free at 1-877-341-2102 by Sept. 1 to register for the September 8 event. Free childcare is also available at the PACT Center during the training; please call Andy at 660-627-6291 to arrange for child care.
