KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Many people came from all over to Truman State University Saturday to learn more about those with disabilities.
It was the 4th annual Disability Awareness Day Conference.
About 17 exhibitors from service agencies and organizations from all over Kirksville and northeast Missouri were there to provide information on the different services they offer to those with disabilities.
Presenters and guest speakers were also there to help give the disabled tools they can use to help live a normal life.
"We want to turn that disability into ability. Give people the ability to do more in society and to become a part of society," said Disability Awareness Day Conference Committee Member Chuck Comstock.
Organizers said this year's conference was their biggest one yet with about 200 people in attendance.
Organizers say they are already planning next year's conference.
