KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- It's that time of year again that media outlets from across northeast Missouri and the American Red Cross are asking for your help.

The Kirksville Media Blood Drive is taking place Wednesday, July 25 from noon to 6 p.m. at the gym in Kirksville Middle School on 1515 South Cottage Grove.

The goal for this year is for 250 people and more to donate.

"Kirksville can do it. We have a great donor base here. The donors are wanting to come out and support The American Red Cross and the local hospital that we supply blood for," said Sarah Rex, Donor Recruitment Representative for the Missouri-Illinois Blood Service Region of the American Red Cross.

Rex also said that they are in high demand for all blood types.

"The blood drive insures an adequate supply of all blood types. We are asking those specifically who are O negative, A negative, B negative, and O positive that if you haven't donated in the last 56 days, we would like if you can attempt to donate. Those types are in more demand right now," Rex said.

KTVO, CableOne, Kirksville Daily Express, KLTE Bott Radio, and KIRK/KRXL/KTUF Radio are proud sponsors of the Media Blood Drive.

Free pizza, water, pepsi, and snacks will be provided. All donors will also receive a free St. Louis Cardinals t-shirt while supplies last.

If you want to register for an appointment you can call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or you can go on-line at redcrossblood.org. You only have until midnight Tuesday to register online and by phone.

Walk-ins are welcome on the day of the blood drive.
