1.  It is best to change the oil before starting the vehicle. It may be contaminated with moisture due to winter condensation.

2.  Check all the coolant, transmission and differential fluid levels before driving. Thoroughly check for leaks under the vehicle.

3.  Check the battery. It is recommended to store an unused battery indoors during the winter months.

4.  You may also want to add fuel injector cleaner to fight condensation and lubricate the injectors.

5.  Bleed the brakes and check the operation of the fuel cylinders.

6.  Replace the spark plugs.

7.  Remove the air filter cover and spray engine starting fluid into the carburetor.

8.  Start the engine and allow the vehicle fully warm up for several minutes. Don’t rev the engine, instead, let it idle before leaving the driveway. Take it for a short, 30-minute drive to evaporate all moisture in the exhaust and engine.

9.  Re-check for fluid leaks.

10.  Clean the interior and wash the exterior, and apply quality wax to the paint finish.
